Short Description
large species of Brochiraja, long tail, orbit moderately large, central dorsal disc with fine denticles, otherwise naked apart from enlarged, tail with mediodorsal rows of hooked thorns and small spiny denticles, total pectoral radials 76–77; predorsal vertebrae 112–114; 40–44 tooth rows in upper jaw. Color: dorsal surface of disc mostly dark violet, outer disc, pelvic fins and tail reddish brown
