Description
Original diagnosis after Brito, Leal & Gallo, 2013 [28856]: Batoid characterized by the presence of a rostral cartilage extending anteriorly to the snout tip; nasal capsules with horn-like anterior processes; pectoral propterygium, extending as far as the anterior part of the nasal capsules; two radials articulating directly with the scapulocoracoid, between the mesopterygium and the metapterygium; radials wider than those of the other guitarfishes; and by the presence of two laterodorsal arcualia elements, unfused with the synarcual.
