Description
Original diagnosis after Lebedev & Popov, 2021 [30123]: A stem chimaeriform fish possessing a dentition characterized by a set of unique characters: (1) beak-shaped cutting mandibular plates composed of a horizontal plate and adjoining labial descending lamina growing along the jaw cartilage; (2) mandibular and vomerine plates showing strongly expressed labial descending laminae, their antimeres contacting tightly at the symphysis; (3) oral surface of the mandibular and vomerine plates concave due to an elevated cutting edge, with a thin varitubate dentine layer instead of tritoral concentrations; (4) mandibular tooth plates composed of three histologically distinct components, each supplied by a separate vascular system.
