Description
Original diagnosis after Reinecke, Mollen, Gijsen, D’Haeze & Hoedemakers, 2024 [32774]: Extinct dasyatoid genus based on medium-sized teeth, up to 1.8 mm high and 2 mm wide, revealing distinct sexual and gradient-monognathic heterodonty. Teeth of female morphology with symmetrical crown having asubhexagonal to rhombic outline ( occlusal/basal view) with prominent, clearly angular to slightly rounded margins; labial visor angular with straight or slightly concave segments (occlusal/basal view); latero-lingual crown margins straight to slightly convex; lingual visor evenly convex; transverse ridge of higher-crowned teeth (supposedly derived from symphyseal to lateral files) blunt, not elevated (profile view), and lingually arched (occlusal view); labial crown surface mesio-distally and apico-basally strongly cambered, commonly lacking a central depression; crown in labial view clearly convex with flat apex and subvertical to oblique margins; latero-labial basal crown surface long (labio-lingually), wide, smooth and rather shallow; lingual crown surface constricted, with weak or absent axial ridge; lower-crowned teeth (from supposed latero-posterior to commissural files) showing more elongated outlines with transversally extended, weak labial depression and a shouldered transverse crest (in profile view); root bilobed, holaulacorhize, always lower than the crown; root lobes rather slender, not robust; nutritive groove deep, variably wide, with few small to medium-sized foramina.
Teeth of male morphology with moderately high, often stout crown displaying a near-equilateral to laterally extended outline; also present teeth with laterally compressed, slightly asymmetric crown, being narrower than long; labial apron or bulging visor absent; transverse ridge V-shaped in occlusal view, with curved cutting edges culminating in a pointed, often peg-like apex which is lingually bent or kinked; marginal crown angles often conspicuous, sometimes acute; labial crown surface undulated to axially depressed; crown ornamentation and root morphology similar to that of female teeth.
