Original diagnosis after Heidtke, 2011 [35442]: total length — 25 cm; head long and slender with long branchial basket; five segments of circum orbital ring strongly curved with surface Ornament of round tubercles; neurocranium not ossified; lower jaws in adult individuals still supported by branchiostegal rays and long pin-like gill-rakers along the hyoid-arch; body surface completely covered with tiny rhombic scales; cross-section of body relatively deep.
