Description
Original diagnose after Case (1996) p. 9 [397]: Isolated crushing teeth forming a mosaic pattern dental plate similar to the stingrays, with the exception that the teeth are not elongated chevrons such as are found in the flattened dental plates of the rays. Teeth of small size, averaging 5 mm in overall crown width and 4 mm in their overall height. Teeth of Hypolophites hutchinsi nov. sp. differ from Hypolophites sp. of the Thanetian of Sessao, Niger (CAPPETTA 1987: 164) by having shorter crowns with wrinkled oral faces.
