Description
Original diagnose after Duffin et al. (2022) [31282]: Chimaeroid egg cases of rhinochimaerid type measuring up to 370 mm in length and 72 mm across at the widest point. The ratio of capsule length to maximum width is 5.1:1. The pedicle comprises around 60 % of the total length of the case. The lateral web is only moderately developed and strengthened with branched and occasional unbranched costae which are angled anteriorly at 70o to 80o in the beak region. In the trunk and pedicle regions the costae are directed posteriorly at increasingly acute angles (74o in central part of the trunk, changing to around 53o–55o at the trunk/pedicle junction and 45o in the proximal region of the pedicle). The posterior part of the pedicle is bare of web development. A central ridge is present down the length of the tail sheath in the midline of the pedicle.
