Short Description
Diagnosis after VINU et al. 2017 [25620]: Cruriraja andamanica differs from its congeners with the following combination of characters: single series of enlarged thorns on mid-dorsal region, becoming multiple rows towards middle of tail; presence of rostral, nuchal and scapular thorns, small denticles on ventral side of tail; short inter-dorsal space, less than length of first dorsal base. Dorsal surface without blotches; caudal extremities and dorsal fins white.

Biology
Oviparous, paired eggs are laid. Embryos feed solely on yolk [733]. Eggs have horn-like projections on the shell [17086].
