Description
WELTON, 1979 [2517]: - mesial cutting ridge of cusp weakly convex or sinuous - serrations low, coarse, and widely spaced on mesial cutting ridge - distal cutting ridge of cusp smooth - mesial notch absent, distal notch well developed - lingual crown face weakly to moderately convex, labial face flat or weakly convex - mesial and distal root depressions absent - transverse groove weak or absent

Discussion
PFEIL, 1983 [1886] erected for Echinorhinus cf. priscus (WELTON 1979 [2517]) a new species, Echinorhinus weltoni PFEIL, 1983 [1886], but he didn't see the holotye and the referred speciemens of WELTON, 1979. He used only the drawings and the description of WELTON 1979 [2517]. No records of this species since the description of PFEIL, 1983.
