Description
Original description by Duffin & Batchelor, 2024 [33562]: Teeth of Eostriatolamia measuring up to 7.5 mm high are characterised by the following combination of characters: the anterior teeth are symmetrical to slightly asymmetrical with a high, upright, sharply pointed central cusp which has well-defined cutting edges, a flattened labial face, a strongly convex lingual face (especially basally) and a slight sigmoidal flexure apically. The cusp is ornamented labially by short, moderately strong, non-bifurcating vertical ridges confined to the labial basal 20% and concentrated in a delta-shaped area at the cusp base. Lingual ridges are slightly weaker and more widely spaced, extending up to half-way up the central cusp. There is a single pair of upright lateral cusplets with minimally diverging axes separated from the central cusp by a moderately wide notch. The lateral cusplets are ornamented by a series of vertical ridges both labially and lingually, some of which attain the cusplet apex. The crown/root junction is arched beneath the central cusp. The root prongs are well developed, extend slightly beyond the lateral heels of the crown, and are slightly compressed. The lingual protuberance is moderately well developed and the vascularisation is holaulacorhize. Lateral teeth are smaller, possess lower crowns with distally inclined, wider-based central cusps bearing coarser vertical ridges than in anteriors, and occasionally representatives of a very small second lateral cusplet pair.
