Diagnosis after Ng & Lin, 2026 [36209]: An extremely small species of the E. pusillus group, differing from the congeners in having a combination of irregular-arranged denticles, enlarged spike- like denticles present on an area above the P1, and long central caudal marking.

Dentition
Teeth dissimilar in upper and lower jaw (Fig. 12); upper teeth multicuspid, in three functional series, small, central cusp especially slender, with three to four slender cusplets on each side of the cusp; innermost pair longest, not reduced; teeth in lower jaw unicuspid, in three series, one functional; lower teeth blade-like, with strongly oblique cusp. Tooth count of upper jaw 22, lower jaw 28, total count 50. [36209]
