Short Description
Two or more irregular thorns along the median belt of its disc rearward from the scapular region. First and second dorsal fins separated by definite interspace with one or two thorns. Upper surface brownish gray, lower surface pale yellowish [199].

Distribution
Western Central Atlantic: known only from the northeastern slope of Yucatan, Mexico.

Biology
Oviparous, paired eggs are laid. Embryos feed solely on yolk [733].

Habitat
demersal; marine; depth range 423 - 423 m [5198]
