Description
Original diagnosis after Sambou, Hautier, Sarr, Tabuce, Lihoreau, Thiam, Lebrun, Martin, Cappetta & Adnet, 2020 [28632]: Myliobatoid ray with very small teeth (less than1.3 mm in size) exhibiting reduced sexual dimorphism in crownmorphology. The teeth of presumed breeding males have crownwith small, lingually directed cusp, non-cuspidate teeth of pre-sumed females (or from the lateral files of breeding males). Thecrown is robust, often diamond shaped in occlusal view withdepressed visor suggesting a light teeth imbrication or at least a direct contact between alternating teeth. The lingual face of thecrown is straight and mainly unornamented, excepted just underthe transverse keel where it is slightly concave with an enameloidmarked by vertical folders. The labial face is flat, strongly orna-mented with sorted micrometric holes piercing the whole surface.The labial visor is medially concave and its ornamentation is lesshomogeneous compared to labial face. The teeth roots are bilobate,vertically directed, narrower than the crown and relatively highwith two pinched lobes separated by large but soft nutritive groovewhere a unique large foramen opens medially.
