Short Description
Original Diagnosis of EBERT & GON, 2017 [25379]: A Rhinobatos species distinguished by the following combination of characters: dorsal surface without prominent thorns or tubercles, and a distinctive colour pattern of paired spots of differing sizes, some forming darker transverse bands across its back; ventral surface colour mostly white, without distinctive patterning except for a prominent teardrop-shaped black blotch extending posteriorly from rostral tip to about midpoint anterior to upper mouth; 61–63 nasal lamellae; upper jaw tooth count about ca. 83–93; 177–181 post-synarcual centra; 193–198 total vertebral segments; 67–71 total pectoral skeleton radials.

Teeth arranged in quincunx, small, close-set, rhombic, broad-based with short, bluntly rounded cusp; upper and lower teeth similar in shape and size; tooth counts range from about ca. 83– 93 in upper and lower jaws. [25379]
