Original diagnosis after Andreev, Zhao, Wang, Smith, Li, Cui, Zhu & Sansom, 2020 [28168]: Mongolepids with trunk scales possessing primary odontodes exposed on the crown surface as elongate, reclined elements oriented parallel to each other. Odontodes possess an anteriorly bifurcated medial ridge running along their length and neck canal openings at the crown’s posterior margin.
