Smithsonian Contributions to Zoology, (540): i-iii, 1-19: Bigelow and Schroeder based the description of E. bullisi on the holotype and three other specimens (which they called "additional material"): 205 mm female and a 230 mm, immature male, both from the same locality as the holotype, and a 212 mm immature male from "Pelican" sta 51, off eastern Florida. These specimens must be treated as paratypes. Bigelow and Schroeder failed to state the location of these specimens and their location is unknown.
