Distribution
Southwest Atlantic: between 45°36.1"quot;S, 66°12.2"quot;W and 51°6.8"quot;S, 62°24"quot;W to Uruguay [5839]. Southeast Pacific: Bahia de San Vicente to Seno Reloncavi, Puerto Montt.

Biology
Oviparous, paired eggs are laid. Embryos feed solely on yolk [733]; size of egg capsules ranged between 197 and 199 mm in capsule length and 110.0 and 129.0 mm in capsule width [16063]

Habitat
bathydemersal; marine; depth range 93 - 450 m (Ref. 27092)
